It's Game Time !!

Jesse's baseball season is in full swing. Jesse has been catching for the JV team and has been doing a great job. There are times when Coach Velasquez yells at him because he knows better.

Jesse is really enjoying playing at Jay. He has such a great time with his new team mates. He is such a leader. Pretty good for being just a freshman. He looks forward to playing baseball every game. He enjoys playing schools that he knows players from his years at Westwood and Edgewood.

Jesse has had some great plays as a catcher. He has gunned down several runners at second base. He has even hosed down a couple of runners at third and first. He has even blocked a few runs from crossing the plated.

Jesse loves playing the game. He loves it as much as Daniel loves football.

If you get a chance to see Jesse play, bring your lawn chair and sit back and enjoy the show!!!

Baseball in Full Swing at Jay

Daniel is having a blast!! He hit his third homerun against Taft today. They won 13-4. Next opponnent is Reagan on Thursday.

We lost to Del Rio on Monday (7-1). Daniel went 0-3. Not a good day.

We beat Warren in 8 innings. Wow what a game. We were losing 6-0 in the bottom of the seventh inning. Daniel came up to bat earlier in the game and had got hit by a pitch. The next two times at bat, Daniel did not get on base. We had scored 4 runs on errors that Warren caused. With runners on second and third with two outs and Daniel comes up to bat Daniel hits a ball deep to left field over the fielders head and the ball hits the wall. The two baserunners come in and tie the game. Daniel had a stand up double. WOW!!! The next batter comes up to bat and makes the third out. They hold Warren in the top of the 8th inning. First batter comes up to bat and gets a single and stretches it to a double - safe !!! Hector comes in and and hits a line shot to right field and the runner comes in. JAY Wins!!! What a game.

Daniel has been doing great in left field. I think even Coach Campos is surprised on how he has adjusted from a catcher to a left fielder. He has even thrown a runner out at home from left field. Watch out Ken Griffy Jr.!!!

DJ's Favorite Girl......

Miss Gabby - DJ's Gabster!


Even though she is miles away......she is always in his thoughts and close in his heart. He misses her dearly. You can see it in his face when you mention her name. But when that phone rings and he hears "Hi DJ" his face lights up and says "Hi Gabster".

Jay vs Holmes

Daniel and Jesse both played on Tuesday against Holmes. And both of them played at the same time. Daniel went to go see Jesse play at Jay and I went to see DJ play at Northside.

DJ was playing left field. He went 1-3. One of his good friends, Zach, plays for Holmes. And Zach was pitching. Daniel got one hit and he hit it down the middle and almost hit Zach. They both grinned at each other after he got on base. They won 6-3.

Jesse was catching. He went 2-2. According to Daniel, he did great. He almost got a runner out on 2nd base, but the umpire was not watching the same game, he called him safe. They won 13-3.

Both of the boys are in tournaments this weekend. I am going to be really busy. Between the two, I have 7 games to go to in the next three days!!! But I wouldn't complain for a moment. Next game for them is Thursday. DJ is playing Harlendale at 1:30pm at SW High School. And Jesse is playing Taft at 4:30 at Jay. I hope Daniel doesn't get his feelings hurt when we beat the Indians !!!!

Daniel makes All District

Daniel was selected to the 2007 27-5A All District 2nd team as the MLB. Can't wait for next year to start !!!

Another Medrano Catcher for Jay !!!

Well, Jesse made the JV team for Jay and is the starting catcher. He starts district play on Tuesday against Holmes. We will see how he does.

He had one scrimmage game last week against Southwest. He did awesome as the cather. Hitting he went 2-2.

It's Baseball Time !!!

Well, it's baseball season at Jay. Daniel is on varisty again this year. Daniel played against Kerrville in a scrimmage game on February 4th and hit his first homerun !!!

Daniel is playing left field for now as he injured his thumb lifting weights during football class. He is having fun.

He just got back from the Border Olympics Tournament in Laredo, Texas. He went 3-12 in the whole tournament. Right now he is working on getting back on track on his hitting. Coach V is working on his batting stance. Hopefully with a few adjustments he will get back on track.

District play starts on Tuesday. First game is against Holmes. He will play against his good friend Zach.
